Court rejects petition for changing V. Sedrakian’s measure of restraint
The court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork-Marash communities rejected today the petition of Alexander Sirunian, the lawyer of Vardan Sedrakian who is a defendant in the Paruyr Hayrikian shooting case.
Alexander Sirunian had filed a petition, asking the court to change the measure of restraint against Vardan Sedrakian. All the immovable property of Sedrakian was offered as a bail.
During a talk with reporters, Alexander Sirunian said in response to the question of Aysor.am that he expected such a decision of the court. “They don’t have proofs, but we live in Armenia,” he noted.
Asked if they intend to apply to the European Court of Human Rights, Sirunian said he will meet with Sedrakian on Thursday and propoose applying to the ECHR.
Let us remind you that the Court of Kentron and Nork-Marash communities sentenced the former presidential candidate Vardan Sedrakian to two-month preliminary arrest.
Sedrakian has been charged with organizing the attempted murder of another presidential candidate, leader of AIM Party Paruyr Hayrikian.
