Persons spying for Azerbaijan arrested

The National Security Services of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh have arrested three persons on suspicion of spying for Azerbaijan.

Mane Movsisian, 31, a contract servicewoman of a military unit in Armenia, was detained on June 22, the press service of Armenia’s National Security Service reports.

“The NSS has irrefutable facts that on January 2012, prior to becoming a military servicewoman, Mane Movsisian entered into correspondence with a Turkey-based Azerbaijani secret service agent whose profiles in social networks such as Одноклассники, mail.ru agent, and Facebook were “S Dr”, “Seryan Dervisyan” and “Tigran Dervisyan”. They continued to be in correspondence after Mane Movsisian joined the armed forces of Armenia,” the National Security service said.

According to investigators, M. Movsisian passed secret information of a military nature about Armenia to Azerbaijani secret services. She collected that information while working as a servicewoman.

‘The National Security Service of Nagorno Karabakh detained two persons, one of whom is a serviceman of the NKR Defense Army, for similar crimes. They were recruited via the Internet by the Azerbaijani secret service agent managing the same profiles,” Armenia’s NSS said.
