SCPEC did not record price increase in large supermarkets
The State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition of Armenia did not record an increase in prices in large supermarkets,” the commission’s spokeswoman Gayane Sahakian told Aysor.am.
It is noteworthy that the gas and electricity tariffs will rise in Armenia on July 7. By a decision of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, the price of natural gas will make 156 AMD per cubic meter instead of current 132 AMD, while the electricity price will increase from 30 to 38 AMD. So the gas and electricity tariffs will increase by 18% and 25% respectively.
In addition, SCPEC has conducted studies in fuel and flour markets where price changes have not been recorded. The price of diesel fuel fell by 10 AMD in May.
According to Gayane Sahakian, a decline in prices was recorded in the food market in May and June, for example, the price of 82% fat butter made in Finland fell by 300 AMD. Chicken and olive oil prices also went down.
As for transport fares, she said the commission has not yet received any complaints from citizens regarding an increase in public transport fares.
