Hraparak: Vanadzor mayor didn’t resign, he is in Karabakh

There were rumors in the Armenian parliament yesterday that the Vanadzor mayor Samvel Darbinian resigned. He and the governor of Lori province Arthur Nalbandian did not answer the phone all day, ‘Hraparak’ writes.

“It turned out that at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister of the NKR Arthur Aghabekian, the Vanadzor mayor went to Karabakh as a member of an Armenian elite delegation led by the inseparable top brass ‘Manvel&Seyran’ in order to attend the celebrations in Martakert region as Lori province in Armenia and Martakert region in NKR are sister provinces,” the paper writes.

Witnesses told the paper they saw S. Darbinian in the morning as “he walked whistling and with his hands in his pockets and did not look like a man who had resigned. The office of Republican Party of Armenia also refuted the rumors of his resignation later the same day,” the paper says.
