Labor minister admits a number of omissions in sphere

“I admit the omissions revealed by the Control Chamber of Armenia. We have submitted comments regarding some of them. The omissions were of procedural nature, which was also mentioned in the report of the Control Chamber,” Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artyom Asatrian told at a meeting with journalists today.

In his words, it is another matter whether the ‘procedural omissions’ are violations or not. The minister admitted that there are a number of problems in the sphere that need solutions.

Asatrian did not share the opinion that state funds were embezzled. “The state expenditures on social protection amount to 280 billion AMD, the salaries of civil servants made 300 billion AMD. No violations related to pensions and benefits were revealed so I disagree with this formulation,” the minister noted.

According to him, the persons guilty of violations and omissions have been punished. No financial damage was caused to the state as a result of ‘procedural omissions’.
