No one charged yet in “financial pyramid case”
No employee of the Police has been charged yet in the “financial pyramid case”, Pastinfo news agency was informed by the newly-appointed spokesman for the RA Special Investigation Service Mikael Aharonian who said the preliminary investigation continues.
In response to an inquiry of Pastinfo’s correspondent, the SIS earlier said the Armenian Police has submitted the materials regarding such crimes as usury, property embezzlement, and extortion to the Special Investigation Service that opened a criminal case based on the indicated facts under the Criminal Code’s Article 178 part 3 point 1 (fraud in large amounts), Article 182 part 3 point 3 (extortion committed by an organized group) and Article 213 part 1 (usury).
It is noteworthy that the case was opened in April and an investigation is underway for two months, but the Special Investigation Service of Armenia has not provided any details.
The name of the former Chief of Yerevan Police Nerses Nazarian was mentioned in the press as a man involved in extortion and fraud in the mentioned case.
