10th Jubilee Golden Apricot Festival opens in Yerevan
The opening ceremony of the 10th Jubilee Golden Apricot Film Festival took place in Yerevan.
The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian, a number of high-ranking political figures, representatives of culture, champion of Chess Olympics Levon Aronian, and General Manager of Vivacell MTS Company (that sponsors the festival) Ralph Yirikian.
The world-famous singer and movie actor Charles Aznavour is the honorary guest of the Golden Apricot Festival this year. The opening ceremony started with ythe of opening Aznavour’s Star in the Yerevan square named after the legendary French Armenian singer. Film director Artavazd Peleshian was also among those present at the opening ceremony.
The film festival will last until July 14. About 200 films from 96 countries will be screened.
