Hayrikian files suit for recovery of 42 million AMD from defendants

At today’s court hearing of the ex-presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikian’s attempted murder case, P. Hayrikian was recognized as the civil plaintiff, while the three accused persons, namely ex-presidential candidate Vardan Sedrakian, Khachatur Poghosian and Samvel Harutyunian were recognized as civil defendants, according to Pastinfo news agency.

Hayrikian filed today a civil lawsuit for recovery of over 42 million AMD from the defendants. Paruyr Hayrikian told Pastinfo that the sum was determined based on calculations of the government, with medical costs, including the surgery costs, being taken into account.

The court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts rejected the petition of Khachatur Poghosian’s lawyer to conduct an investigative experiment concerning Hayrikian’s attempted murder committed on January 31, 2013. The court believes that there are proofs of the incident, including the testimonies given by the victim and the accused person during the preliminary investigation and in the court.
