Vahagn Chakhalian: Victim said Armen Chakhalian didn’t beat him
Georgia’s Court of Appeal examined today the complaint against the decision on two month arrest of Armen Chakhalian, against whom a criminal case was opened. The court left the decision unchanged.
Armen Chakhalian’s brother, Vahagn Chakhalian, told Aysor.am that it is necessary to wait until August 9 when a preliminary hearing of Armen Chakhalian’s case will be held.
According to Vahagn Chakhalian, he hopes the prosecutor’s office will file a petition and Armen will be released because “the victim said that Armen Chakhalian did not beat him, and residents said Armen came to separate a fight, but he didn’t participate in it”.
V. Chakhalian said that the lawyers hope that based on the collected facts, the prosecutor’s office will file a petition of Armen Chakhalian’s release prior to the trial.
We would remind you that Грузия Online reported that Georgian law enforcers detained Armen Chakhalian who is the brother of Javakheti Armenian activist Vahagn Chakhalian. According to the source, Armen Chakhalian is accused of organizing unrest in Ninotsminda.
