168 Hours: BHK stops financing opposition HAK
According to ‘168 Hours’ paper, Armenian National Congress (HAK) Party is in financial difficulties and unable to finance its territorial structures. The paper’s sources say that the reason is that after the Yerevan elections, Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) lost interest in HAK and stopped its financial assistance.
“HAK Party wants to change BHK’s decision, using the issue of President Serzh Sargsyan’s impeachment with this aim. The deputy chairman of HAK Levon Zurabian declared that in the fall HAK parliamentary faction may include that issue in the parliament agenda. If the draft decision on filing an impeachment application to the Constitutional Court is put to the vote, BKK will be faced with a difficult choice. In case of voting in favor of such an application, BHK will have serious problems with the authorities, while BHK’s refusal to vote will undermine its image as a non-pro-government party,” the paper notes.
