Russian MFA: Rights of Armenian citizen charged in crash to be observed
A meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Grigory Karasin and the Armenian Ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan took place in Russian Foreign Ministry today.
Topical issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction of the two foreign ministries were discussed at the meeting, the Russian MFA said.
The interlocutors also touched upon the recent deadly car crash near Moscow, over which an Armenian citizen was charged. The crash left 18 people dead and over 30 injured.
“O. Yesayan expressed his sincere condolences in connection with the accident. The Russian side confirmed that a comprehensive and impartial investigation will be conducted, with the legitimate rights of the accused man being observed. Mutual concern was expressed regarding the unbecoming attempts to try to profit from the tragedy for inflaming feelings that contradict the spirit of the Russian-Armenian friendship,” a statement of Russian foreign Ministry says.
