Serzh Sargsyan receives EBRD President
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today a delegation led by President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti, the presidential press service reports.
The Armenian president highly appreciated over 20 years’ cooperation of Armenia with EBRD, thanks to which significant work has been done. S. Sargsyan expressed hope that the bank will continue providing assistance to Armenia in the private and financial sectors, also for strengthening its institutional potential.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the future programs of cooperation with EBRD, Armenia’s priorities, the potential for economic development, the current challenges and their solutions.
EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti stressed the importance of the credit agreement that their bank signed today with the Armenian government. In his words, it is a good example of cooperation and is aimed at improving water supply infrastructure in Armenia. He reaffirmed the EBRD’s willingness to continue assisting with cooperation in Armenia’s priority sectors.
