Zhirayr Reisian: There are bread shortages in Aleppo
“The food problem has been solved somewhat in Aleppo. Foodstuffs are being brought to the city through a corridor. Food prices were very high at first, but the prices have fallen a bit, “Aysor.am was informed by Zhirayr Reisian, spokesman for the Berian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Aleppo.
In his words, there is a fuel shortage in the city. “Even if people manage to get fuel for vehicles, it is very expensive. Another problem is bread shortages. Although a number of state bakeries work round-the-clock, it is impossible to satisfy the needs of a city with a population of five million,” he noted.
The spokesman said explosions continue in Aleppo. “Bombs more frequently exploded recently. There have been victims among Armenians as well,” Reisian said.
