Zhoghovurd: Investigation launched into frauds in Ardshininvestbank

‘Zhoghovurd’ writes citing its sources that a criminal case was opened in connection with the frauds at Vardenis branch of Ardshininvestbank CJSC.

Let us remind you that people who pledged gold items with Ardshininvestbank couldn’t redeem them after paying the respective interest and sums because they were told by the bank that their receipts were fake. “You should demand the sum you paid from the employee who gave you a receipt,” the bank manager Artyom Mkrtchian told customers at that time. A criminal case was opened under the Criminal Code’s Article 179 part 3 point 1 (squandering or embezzlement in large amount).

“Sensing the imminent danger, the bank manager Artyom Mkrtchian repaid a sum of over 3 million AMD instead of the employee. “Yet many things may come to light during the investigation because ‘squandering and embezzlement’ exceed 3 million AMD,” the paper notes.
