Armenian president meets top officials of Education and Science Ministry
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited today the Ministry of Education and Science. He familiarized himself with the working conditions, spoke to employees, and then had a meeting with top officials of the ministry: the deputy ministers, the chief of the staff, and heads of the departments and units, according to the presidential press service.
The president and ministry officials discussed the problems of the sphere and the work done, including the process of reforms. Serzh Sargsyan asked questions about further steps concerning the educational policy and work done in preparation for the academic year. Following the reports made by the minister of education and science, the deputy ministers, and the chief of the staff, the president put questions to them and then expressed readiness to answer meeting participants’ questions related not only to education and science, but also Armenia’s foreign and domestic policies, problems and achievements, and the country’s security.
During the meeting S. Sargsyan spoke about future programs of state policy aimed at improving working conditions at the ministry and state institutions subordinate to it and solving social problems, as well as expectations from the sphere’s executives in terms of preparing highly-qualified cadres and at the same time patriots.
Then the president answered a number of questions of ministry officials.
