SIS: No charge brought against Shirak regional prosecutor

A criminal case was opened by the Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Armenia under the Criminal Code’s Article 258 part 1 and Article 309 part 1 – based on a complaint about transgression of authority by employees of the Shirak regional prosecutor’s office and the policeman who works as a security guard of the prosecutor’s office and use of force against Gohar Hovhannisian, a resident of the city of Gyumri. The complaint was sent to the Gyumri unit of the Armenian police.

According to the press service of SIS, no person has been involved so far as an accused during the investigation of the criminal case. A comprehensive and objective investigation is being conducted in connection with the mentioned fact.

No charge was brought against Shirak prosecutor Karen Shahbazian. He is not an accused person in the criminal case.
