Tigran Sargsyan meets Georgian deputy prime minister
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation headed by Georgia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Georgy Kvirikiashvili, the press service of Armenian government reported.
Attaching importance to the further development of the relationship with Georgia, T. Sargsyan said: “We should continue making efforts for promotion and expansion of bilateral ties, in the interests of our peoples. We should create a common area for our peoples to act freely and cooperate in various spheres, which will provide ample opportunities for deepening our economic ties”.
In the prime minister’s words, there is mutual understanding on all issues, which is an important precondition for development of Armenian-Georgian cooperation.
The Georgian deputy prime minister thanked Tigran Sargsyan. He stated that the Georgian authorities are also interested in the implementation of mutually beneficial investment projects with Armenia and the establishment of closer ties in various spheres.
In this connection the sides discussed issues related to promotion of cooperation in transport, agriculture, tourism, and customs, as well as resumption of direct flight between Yerevan and Tbilisi.
The interlocutors stressed the importance of holding sittings of the Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental commission. An agreement was reached to hold a sitting in the near future.
