Activists get ready for new actions against paid parking lots

'Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun’ reports citing its sources those actions against Parking City Service Company in charge of paid parking lots in Yerevan will begin soon.

Rumors are circulating that the protest action’s authors have asked the company to tell them if drivers can pay several months in advance and then park their cars in parking lots throughout that period. The company confirmed that information, after which the action’s initiators have chosen an unusual form of boycott. They decided to collect old vehicles in villages and provinces, transport them to Yerevan and park them in the so-called small center of the city.

“So they are going to ‘occupy’ most of the parking lots in central streets of Yerevan, while those residents of Yerevan who have already paid money and will not find vacant parking lots, will have to protest,” the paper writes.
