Haykakan Zhamanak: Samvel Aleksanian displeased with criticism

“Haykakan Zhamanak’ writes citing its sources that Samvel Aleksanian, deputy of HHK faction of the Armenian parliament, complained privately that some officials are making critical statements about the situation related to Closed Market in Yerevan. According to the paper, the deputy did not expect such criticism.

According to the daily, Aleksanian has taken all his steps, including major reconstruction of the Closed Market, only after he ‘coordinated those steps with leadership’. Perhaps for that reason Samvel Aleksanian, sensing danger, has mobilized the well-known ‘contingent’ of hysterical women and thick-necked guards under his influence who are currently holding rallies, assaulting activists who demand restoration of the historical appearance of the Closed Market.

Members of the ‘contingent’ are quite aggressive: for example, yesterday one of those women attacked a correspondent of Radio Liberty Armenian service, threatening ‘to cut his throat’.
