Serzh Sargsyan signs decree on constitutional reform commission
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has today signed a decree on the creation of the Specialized Commission on Constitutional Reforms under the President of the Republic of Armenia, the presidential press service said.
Based on the necessity of implementation of the principle of the rule of law, ensuring the balance in the government system, and increasing the efficiency of public administration, and pursuant to Article 55 clause 6 of the Armenian Constitution, President Sargsyan took a decision about the creation of a specialized commission on constitutional reforms.
The regulations and structure of the commission will be established according to the respective procedure rules.
The decree says that the Commission shall submit a concept of implementing constitutional reforms to the head of the state until April 20, 2014, and in case of its approval, the Commission will work out a respective draft within ten months.
Adviser to the President, Ms. Siranush Sahakian has been appointed Secretary of the Specialized Commission on Constitutional Reforms.
