Artush Margarian in grave condition
The Prosecutor General’s Office released details of attempted suicide of Artush Margarian, the father of Armenian officer Gurgen Margarian who was brutally killed in Prague by Azerbaijani Ramil Safarov in 2004.
Around 08:00 am on September 5 the Malatia police station in Yerevan received information from Malatia Medical Center that Artush Margarian was admitted to the center with stab wounds to the abdomen.
Margarian immediately underwent a surgery. Doctors said he had received 4 stab wounds and two cuts near the vein of his left hand.
Doctors say the man is in a grave condition.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Artush Margarain’s wife said that due to the loss of their son, in the past month her husband was hot-tempered, suffered from insomnia and spent most of the time in front of the son’s photo.
Around 7:00 am on September 5 she entered the sitting room and found her husband lying on the sofa and panting. On seeing a bloody knife, she realized that her husband had tried to commit suicide. Artush Mergarian was rushed to Malatia Center where he underwent am operation.
The materials of the case are being prepared in Malatia police station.
