Moscow State University branch to open in Armenia
Everything is being done so that a branch of Moscow State University (MSU) and a senior school of advanced study of Russian will open in Armenia in the next academic year. The work has not been completed this year, Tigran Sahakian, Head of Foreign Relations and Diaspora Department of the RA Education and Science Ministry, is quoted as saying by ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’.
In his words, there is already a respective decision and paper work is currently underway. That is, if everything goes well, Armenian children will be able to attend MSU or a Russian gymnasium in Yerevan from next September. The news came two days ago when Vladimir Putin, speaking to the media during Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Moscow, said when summarizing the bilateral meeting’s outcome that a branch of MSU and a Russian gymnasium may open in Yerevan. It turned out that the two institutions could have been opened this September, but there was no time to complete work.
