Chief physician of rural hospital detained on suspicion of drug trade
Gagik Harutyunian, chief physician of hospital in Baghramian village of Armavir province, was detained on September 4 on suspicion of drug trade, ‘Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun’ says.
According to the paper’s sources, the police conducted searches in the hospital and at Harutyunian’s home. The detention deadline (72 hours) ended on September 6, and the paper tried to get information about Harutyunian’s arrest extension from the press service of the Armenian police.
The press service employee Armen Malkhasian told the newspaper’s correspondent: “The detention deadline has ended and a decision about whether to extend it should be taken”. According to the paper, Gagik Harutyunian’s son is his defense lawyer.
“Information about further developments will be provided in the next issue,” ‘Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun’ writes.
