Hraparak: David Harutyunian likely to be appointed prosecutor general
‘Hraparak’ says that the governor of Tavush province Armen Ghularian went to the National Assembly yesterday. Prior to the sitting of the Supreme Body of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), he talked to HHK faction members, trying to find out if the issue of governors’ resignations would be discussed and if he is in danger of dismissal.
According to the paper, during the sitting of HK Supreme Body Serzh Sargsyan was expected to announce the name of future prosecutor general, but he didn’t do it, saying that there is still time.
“To judge by the warm relationship of the president and David Harutyunian, those present assumed that Harutyunian was the candidate for prosecutor general. Most probably, today one of the deputy prosecutors general will be appointed as acting prosecutor general,” the paper writes.
