David Harutyunian rules out his appointment as prosecutor general
During a talk with ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ yesterday, Deputy of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) parliamentary faction, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs David Harutyunian ruled out the possibility of his appointment as prosecutor general of Armenia.
“The name of the future prosecutor general is still unknown. According to some media outlets, the name of one of the possible candidates, Yerevan prosecutor Hrachia Badalian, was ‘struck off the list’ yesterday due to his health problems.
There are rumors in political circles that quite an ‘exotic’ person will be nominated for the post of prosecutor general and for that reason his name has been kept secret. Yesterday Deputy Prosecutor General Aram Tamazian became acting prosecutor general. He will act until Serzh Sargsyan presents the candidate for prosecutor general in the parliament,” the daily writes.
