Transport fare to increase to 150 drams
‘Hraparak’ daily writes: “The Yerevan Municipality recently approved the order of holding public discussions and hearings. The matter concerns public transport fares. The commission to examine this issue of primary importance to society has not been formed yet, but certain commissions of the municipality have already voiced their assurances that the bus fare will be raised from 100 to 150 AMD…
The commission members are interested persons related to public transport services so they will not represent the interests of society during discussions. A striking example is Henrik Navasardian whose son attacked and beat up the activists who demanded dismissal of his father…
The head of the standing commission on finance, credit and economic affairs Ms. Naira Nahapetian said: “I would like these activists to become involved and start working. Henrik Navasardian has nothing to do with it since he carries out instructions of his superior. If Navasardian is dismissed, Poghosian will come and do the dame thing as he has to do his job”. The commission head added that there will be reforms in transport sector, discussions should be held to establish a new fare”.
