Official of Ararat regional administration forged documents
The Special Investigation Service of Armenia has completed the preliminary investigation of the criminal case opened under Articles 179 and 314 of the Criminal Code.
According to PastInfo news agency, investigators said that during the implementation of a government-sponsored program on state assistance to land users for the purchase of diesel fuel at reasonable prices in 2012-2013, the former head of the agriculture and nature protection department of the regional administration of Ararat province Tigran Virabian abused his office. He forged official documents and embezzled public funds in large amounts.
Arrest was earlier chosen as a measure of restraint against T. Virabian.
The investigator has completed the preliminary investigation of the case and sent the case together with the indictment to the prosecutor for confirmation. The case then will be filed to court.
