Zhoghovurd: D. Harutyunian may become Cassation Court chairman
‘Zhoghovurd’ writes citing its sources that a reshuffle is expected in the Armenian parliament in the near future.
“If the deputy of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) parliamentary faction David Harutyunian is appointed chairman of the Cassation Court (sources in power circles say that) , then the question will arise who will replace Harutyunian as the head of the Armenian delegation in the PACE and the chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs,” the paper says.
Rumors persist in the parliament that Vice Speaker of the parliament Hermine Naghdalian may become the head of the Armenian delegation in the PACE since she was made an honorary member of the PACE this year. Besides, she is the only Armenian MP to have served as the head of a PACE committee. As regard the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, the secretary of HHK faction, lawyer Hovhannes Sahakian is the main candidate here.
