Kostanian: There will no primary and secondary cases for me
There will be no primary and secondary cases for the candidate for the post of Armenia’s prosecutor general Gevorg Kostanian since all cases are important and require the application of the same principle of work. Gevorg Kostanian made that statement during a talk with reporters today.
Asked if his nomination as candidate has anything to do with the release of ex-governor of Syunik province Suren Khachatrian’s son, Kostanian replied: “Should the performance of official duties be encouraged in this way? I performed and will perform my duties”.
In response to the remark that he, without awaiting the end of the preliminary investigation, made a statement, by which one could guess the outcome of the case, Gevorg Kostanian said that at that time the outcome was not clear even to him.
“Many facts became known during the preliminary investigation: the fact that Suren Khachatrian was not at the scene of incident was proved based on an examination of the video and audio recordings,” he noted.
As regards Artak Budaghian, G. Kostanian said Budaghian was charged long ago. “The preliminary investigation is underway, and everything will be clear after its completion,” Gevorg Kostanian said.
