Zhoghovurd: What NA speaker and Aram Manukian discussed at sitting

During the sitting of the National Assembly yesterday, the parliamentary speaker Hovik Abrahamian approached the secretary of Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction Aram Manukian, sat down beside him and discussed an issue with him for a few minutes, ‘Zhoghovurd’ says.

Aram Manukian told the daily’s correspondent that they discussed holding a vote on the European Convention on the Compensation of Victims of Violent Crimes, which has been on the agenda of the Armenian parliament for ten years.

The speaker told Aram Manukian that the government asked them to postpone the issue for 15 days since some corrections should be made. “In case of the convention’s adoption, Armenia’s state budget will need huge sums to pay compensation, which will result in additional expenditures,” ‘Zhoghovurd’ writes.
