Hraparak: Russia may recognize Karabakh’s independence
There is great likelihood that what did not take place in case of Armenia and Karabakh will be done in case of Moldova and Transdniestria. Despite claims of the Armenian authorities that the Russian side didn’t pressurize Armenia into making a decision about entry into the Customs Union, according to sources of ‘Hraparak’ paper, Russia said the same thing concerning both Transdniestria and Karabakh.
Russia openly shows that it is going to recognize Transdniestria’s independence just as it recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. “Armenia was told quite definitely that Russia will recognize Karabakh’s independence, make Karabakh part of the Customs Union, and set up a customs station between ‘European Armenia’ and CU member Karabakh”, the paper writes.
