Sakunts asks prosecutor general to open criminal case against Asrian

Being concerned about the security of parliamentary deputy Zaruhi Postanjian in connection with the recent events, the head of the Vanadzor Office of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly (HCA) Arthur Sakunts has sent a letter to Armenia’s Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanian, the press service of HCA Vanadzor Office said.

“In particular, the letter quotes the threats Khachik Asrian made against Z. Postanjian. To produce evidence, Sakunts presents the reports of a number of media outlets, in which Asrian is quoted as saying that “Zaruhi Postanjian should be burned alive in a bonfire, but not as Jeanne d’Arc, but as Ramil Safarov”.

Arthur Sakunts asks Gevorg Kostanian to open a criminal case against K. Asrian under the RA Criminal Code’s Article 137 - making threats to kill, inflict heavy damage to health, or to destroy property,” the statement of HCA Vanadzor office said.
