Traffic police chief: 5 officers dismissed in nine months
832 road accidents were recorded in Yerevan in the past nine months of this year, as a result of which 43 people died and 1,044 were injured, Chief of the Traffic Police Arsen Arshakian said at a meeting with reporters today.
According to him, the number of fatal road accidents declined by two as compared with the same period of last year.
5 traffic police officers were dismissed in Yerevan in nine months of 2013.
“They were dismissed from their jobs because of improper performance of their duties, impolite attitude towards citizens, as well as failure to impose administrative sanctions, “the traffic police chief said, adding that they also apply strict rules for bad drivers.
“No drivers can say in this city that they enjoy privileges over others because of their expensive cars or wealth”, the traffic police chief said, noting that fines for tinted glass on car windows will be introduced soon.
