Criminal case opened over Azerbaijani gunfire at Berd-Ijevan highway
A criminal case was opened yesterday, on October 22, in connection with the gunfire that Azerbaijani troops opened at a convoy of vehicles on Berd-Ijevan Highway, Aysor.am was informed by Mary Sargsyan, senior officer of the press service of Defense Ministry’s Investigation Service.
She said a criminal case was opened under Article 104 part 2 point 13 (ethnic, racial and religious hate murder) and Article 34-104 part 2 points 1 and 13 (ethnic, racial or religious hate murder or attempted murder committed in a socially dangerous way).
On October 22, between 1 and 2 pm, Azerbaijani troops opened fire at vehicles on Berd-Ijevan Highway near Paravakar in Tavush province of Armenia. Private Garik Poghosian, 19, was killed in the gunfire. Three other conscripts – Arthur Andranikian, 19, Ara Zhamharian, 19 and Martin Petrosian, 19, received gunshot wounds and were hospitalized.
