President attends Yerevan Show 2013

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and his spouse Rita Sargsyan attended today the opening ceremony of Yerevan Show 2013 jewelry exhibition, according to the presidential press service said.

World-famous jewelry manufacturers and suppliers from Armenia and 20 countries are participating in the exhibition. About 140 buyers arrived in Armenia. The event organizers say their presence at the exhibition will allow local companies to find new markets.

The president talked to exhibition participants about their problems and development plans. It is also planned to hold a conference entitled ‘The Current State of Jewel Industry: Problems and Prospects’. At the conference, President of the Armenian Jewelers Association (AJA) Gagik Gevorgian will present the draft decision on the creation of a free economic zone for jewelry. The presentation of a new research Fund of Armenian Jewelers is also scheduled at the event.
