PM: Unemployment benefits were often paid to well-to-do people
Studies conducted in recent years showed that we have an extremely ineffective system: only 6% of sums allocated through that system reached beneficiaries, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said in the parliament, when speaking about the decision to abolish 18 thousand-dram benefits paid to unemployed persons in Armenia.
In the prime minister’s words, they propose allocating funds for job creation under a program of an active social policy as well as for provision of additional services to socially vulnerable families and groups.
‘Those benefits of 18 thousand AMD were often paid to well-to-do people,” the prime minister said.
