Al Arabiya says its reporter killed in Syria
Unknown gunmen have killed a reporter for Al Arabiya in Syria’s largest city of Aleppo, the Dubai-based pan-Arab TV news channel reported Wednesday, according to RIA Novosti.
Mohammad Saeed was killed by a hooded man who used a silenced gun, Al Arabiya quoted a Syrian opposition activist as saying.
Saeed, an Aleppo native, worked with many media outlets writing news stories and making video reports. He focused on covering the Syrian humanitarian crisis.
According to UN statistics, more than 100,000 people have died in the 2 1/2-year civil war in the Middle Eastern country. The number of refugees caused by the conflict hit 2 million in September, the UN said.
