Prime minister receives legendary pole vaulter Sergei Bubka
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received today legendary pole vaulter, Vice President of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Sergei Bubka, according to the press office of the Armenian government.
The prime minister welcomed the famous sportsman’s visit to Armenia, expressing hope that it will contribute to the development and popularization of athletics in Armenia.
“Your achievements in the past aroused our pride and inspiration. We are glad that you established warm ties with Armenia’s Athletics Federation and initiated new programs. The Armenian government will continue taking measures for development of sports,” T. Sargsyan said.
“I met with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and the minister of sports and youth affairs. It is important that legendary sportsmen such as Yuri Vardanian and Robert Emmiyan are responsible for sports in Armenia. We are glad to see Armenia restore its great sports traditions today,” Sergei Bubka said.
