Police release six persons detained in Mashtots Avenue incident
38 people were taken to police on November 5, 20 of them were detained. 8 detainees: Avetis Avetisian, Liparit Petrosian, Armen Hovhannisian, Vardan Vardanian, Misak Arakelian, Albert Margarian, Anushavan Grigorian, and Mkrtych Hovhannisian were charged under the Criminal Code’s Article 316 part 2. Arrest was chosen as a measure of restraint against them.
According to the Armenian police, charges were also brought against another six men, with arrest being chosen as a measure of restraint. These persons are Shant Harutyunian (charged under Article 316 part 2 of the Criminal Code), Hayk Harutyunian (Article 316 part 2), David Mkrtchian (Article 316 part 2), Tigran Petrosian (Article 316 part 1), Alek Poghosian (Article 316 part 1), and Sevak Mnatsakanian (Article 316 part 1).
According to the source, six people out of those detained have been released: Ashot Terterian, Manuk Hovikian, Arman Mkhitarian, Mkhitar Mkhitarian, Hovhannes Ghazarian, and Vahe Mkrtchian.
The Unit on Investigation of Cases of Particular Importance of the Main Investigation Department of Armenian Police is conducting a preliminary investigation.
