Haykakan Zhamanak: Meat imports into Armenia fell 14%
Pork and beef imports into Armenia fell by 1,700 tons or 14% in the last nine months as compared to the same period of last year, according to ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily. Meat production did not grow in the country in the indicated period.
“It means that meat consumption fell by about 4% in Armenia. It is noteworthy that prices have not changed. There may be two reasons for the change in consumption volumes: the decline in the population and the decline in the purchasing power of population,” the paper notes.
