Justice minister meets with Vardan Petrosian
Armenian Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasian met today with actor Vardan Petrosian charged over a car accident that killed two people.
“I assure you that all conditions were created for Vardan Petrosian to receive the necessary treatment. Doctors of this penal institution have been given the necessary instructions. Doctors of city hospitals as well as the doctor who operated on Vardan Petrosian may visit him without hindrance, if necessary,” the minister told journalists.
Speaking about the measure of restraint chosen against Vardan Petrosian, the justice minister said that he repeatedly mentioned the unsatisfactory situation in this sphere.
‘The problem here is related not only to practice, but also to legislative decisions. For example, house arrest and administrative control are not stipulated by our law. But we will have alternative measures of restraint and changes will occur with the creation of a probation service,” Hrayr Tovmasian said.
