V. Petrosian’s lawyer files appeal for change of measure of restraint

Actor Vardan Petrosian’s lawyer, Nicolai Baghdasarian, filed an appeal, asking that Petrosian’s measure of restraint - arrest was replaced with a bail of 500 thousand drams, N. Baghdasarian wrote on his Facebook page where he also posted an electronic version of the appeal.

Around 10:10 pm on October 20, a BMW-320 and a VAZ-21214 collided on Yeghvard-Yerevan Highway. The driver and six passengers of VAZ car received injuries and were hospitalized. Two of the passengers – Edgar and Edward Hakobians died in the hospital.

A criminal case was opened under the Criminal Code’s Article 242 part 3 – violation of the traffic rules and rules of operation of transport vehicles, causing by negligence the death of two or more people.

The court of general jurisdiction of Kotayk province in Armenia granted the police petition for using arrest as a measure of restraint against Vardan Petrosian. The actor is currently in Convicts’ Hospital penal institution.
