Architects observe minute of silence in memory of Closed Market
At the 18th congress of the Union of Armenia’s Architects on Saturday, architects and Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Kamo Areyan observed a minute of silence in memory of the Closed Market and other ‘destroyed’ buildings, ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ writes.
According to the daily, the proposal was put forward by member of the Union of Architects Ruben Hakobian who also recalled the fate of Sevan Hotel, the Youth Palace and the Yerevan circus. In their speeches, the architects considered what had happened to the Closed Market a disgrace. Mkrtich Minasian was reelected Chairman of the Union of Architects of Armenia.
