Tests establish driver Hrachia Harutyunian’s guilt
Tests have established the guilt of KamAZ truck driver Hrachia Harutyunian accused of causing an accident that left 18 people dead near Moscow in July, according to Vesti.ru.
The Main investigative Department of Moscow Police received the results of a forensic mental test and three technical examinations. “It follows from the conclusions of the auto-technical examinations that the driver violated rules for transport safety and operation of a transport vehicle,” the police said.
Harutyunian’s truck didn’t undergo repairs for a long time, which ‘resulted in ineffective work of the brake system and the accused should have been aware of that,” the Main Investigative Department said.
It was established earlier that at the time of the accident, the truck was overloaded, which also affected its brake system.
Harutyunian’s lawyer Ruben Margarian told the correspondent of Aysor.am that he has already met with Harutyunian. “We familiarized ourselves with the tests’ results,” he said.
On July 13, 2013 Harutyunian’s truck loaded with crushed stone ploughed into a passenger bus. 18 people died and over 60 others were injured in the accident.
