Government extends gas subsidies for vulnerable families for 3 months
At the session today, the Armenian government took a decision to extend provision of gas subsidies to vulnerable families for another three months. The draft decision was submitted by Energy and Natural Resources Minister Armen Movsisian, the press office of the government reported.
It was planned to subsidize the gas price from April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2013. By the government decision, subsidizing was extended until July 6 of this year.
Besides, prior to March 31, subsidies were provided for subscribers using up to 300 cubic meters per month, whereas from April 1 to July 6 – also for subscribers using up to 75 cubic meters per month.
The difference between the market and reduced tariffs will be paid to ArmRosGazprom Company out of revenues of state electricity generating enterprises.
