Remains of Armenian soldier killed in WW II found in Ukraine
Remains of unknown soldiers were found during the excavations near Klevetsk village in Volynsk region of Ukraine. It was assumed that one of the soldiers buried there was Sergei Harutyun Aghasian (born in 1925), according to the Armenian police.
Before the war Sergei Aghasian lived in Yerevan, he was drafted into the army in 1944. In July of the same year, he was killed in the battle at Kovel.
“Sergei Aghasian’s relatives or anyone with information about him are asked to call at 56-48-21,” the police said in a statement.
