MFA: No Armenians among those involved in Sadakhlo shooting
There were no Armenians among those involved in the shooting at the Armenian-Georgian border late November 25, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman Tigran Balayan told Aysor.am.
“Therefore there are no Armenians among the victims,” he said.
Aysor.am was informed by the press service of the Armenian police that no firearms incidents were reported in the Armenian territory.
Interfax news agency reported citing Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs that at the Sadakhlo checkpoint on the Armenian-Georgian border the police detained six men suspected of murder.
According to the press service of Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the detained man wounded three people at the checkpoint and took to flight, but they were detained by policemen shortly afterward. The police seized a gun from them. Two of those wounded at the checkpoint died on the way to hospital.
A criminal case was opened over premeditated murder, the Georgian ministry said.
