Zhamanak: General Manvel’s resignation unlikely
A regular congress of Yerkrapah Union of Veterans is scheduled for February 2014. The new head of the union will be elected at the congress. Rumors persist that those in political circles don’t rule out that Yerkrapah Union head General Manvel who is now undergoing treatment abroad will resign for medical reasons.
The general’s assistant Vardan Vardanian told ‘Zhamanak’ daily that his resignation is unlikely: doctors say that he is in satisfactory condition. “As a responsible man, he cannot relinquish his responsibility of Vazgen Sargsyan’s legal successor. After the October 27 events, the Yerkrapah family considered Manvel Grigorian as worthy to head the union. He is able-bodied. Doctors say he is in satisfactory condition,” Vardanian said.
