G. Sahakian: Our citizens will use gas at same price as Russians
It cannot be said that Armenia sells everything it has to Russia because Armenia has no gas, the head of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction Galust Sahakian told reporters during a briefing in the parliament today, when commenting on the sale of 20% of ArmRosGazprom Company’s shares to Russia’s Gazprom.
“I didn’t study the subject in depth, you should address that question to ministers, but I think the problem of mitigating the gas price impact will be solved and our citizens will use gas at the same price as Russian citizens,” G. Sahakian said.
Asked if the plans to raise public transport fares will be abandoned in case of the gas price reduction, Galust Sahakian replied that transport fares depend not only on the gas price, but also on prices of tires, spare parts, and fuel. “I cannot say anything about transport fares as that document has just been signed. Logically, the gas price will decline for ordinary people and the economy,” the faction head said.
