Iran can supply natural gas to Armenia at reduced prices
Iran can supply natural gas to Armenia at reduced prices, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mohammad Raeesi told reporters.
“We have not yet discussed the possibility of selling natural gas to Armenia. Gas is now supplied in exchange for electricity. But Armenia is a friendly country and discounts are possible in this case”, the ambassador said.
“It is necessary to clarify how much Armenia pays for Russian and Iranian gas and to discuss all the issues. One thing is certain: we supply gas to one country at one price and to another country at another,” M. Raeesi said.
Armenian Energy Minister Armen Movsisian said earlier that Iranian gas cannot be an alternative to Russian gas because of its high price.
